speaking of alchemist, I don;t know in which country you people are living since time difference is different around the world , today is "Don't Forget 3. Oct.11" Relates to the Anime Series 'Fullmetal Alchemist', It's a reminder not to forget the day Ed and Al turned their backs on a life they could never go back to. With their bodies permanently affected by their attempts at bringing their mother back, Ed and Al decide they can no longer stay in their childhood home where it all took place. They set the house where they lived with their mother ablaze and decided to walk away from it all to join the military as State Alchemists. This plan would potentially allow them to track down the legendary Philosopher's Stone, an item that could help them get their bodies back to normal. The day they joined the military after turning their backs on their old lives, they received special State Alchemist pocket watches, instrumental for completing alchemic magic. As an important reminder to themselves, they scrawled the date and a message on the inside: "Don't Forget 3.Oct.11."

The master of sarasa gave a lot of things to sarasa for free it's because she's worried about her

Captain trips • 1 year ago

Nah she just probably feels bad because her parents were kilt. Maybe she felt bad because she ordered the hit so she could steal their customers

sorry to say but in this anime world getting killed by bandits isn't a surprising occurrence there are probably like 10 other children at that orphanage just like her and you don't see people giving them stuff for free out of pity of the fact their parents died

Random dude • 1 year ago

Lol all cultured people gather at the same place dont they?

Alterier Sarasa: The Alchemist of God Knows Where - The Animation

So, the academy not only doesn't accept its errors in the graduation exam, it even gives preferential treatment to the nobles. Such a Royal Alchemist Academy it is.

I'm quite amazed how Sarasa could throw 5 million around like they were nothing. The books she bought ended up more expensive than the shop. Such a hardcore reader lol

Meroko Yui • 1 year ago

Ya it contradicted what they stated about the details of the school. It's like the school was given recognition through giving an equal chance but it's technically not equal at all. Also the desire for a process of elimination means it's most likely the nobles that generally become alchemist regardless. On the contrary this coincides with real issues with even actual universities. However failure is more common from many students as they're younger don't take it seriously and there are many who were supported even by wealthier parents making reattempting much easier to accomplish. The cost of school tends to often drive people away from the attempt. Which means schools are not always supporting the talented but the wealthy In contrary with this anime the cost to be alchemist is similar. The desire to be one is similar to psych students also and process of pushing failure because of the abundance of students who apply to it. lol..

Seosamh Wray • 1 year ago

Equal opportunity for becoming an alchemist, just not an equal outcome since they're corrupt and you just know that some noble scion would kick up a fuss if he or she didn't place higher than a commoner. So long as they actually do the work the top student will always be a noble, which then results in those who lose to a commoner not creating much fuss, as it means that even with the preferential treatment they couldn't score well.

Meroko Yui • 1 year ago

Ya they can get by on grades if their knowledgeable and skilled but it's the harder road. If your an elite you can just easily get by on boosted grades. Then your outcome after education is the cost in books everything else which essentially pushes skill out of for having money. In terms it ends up being about not how much skill you have but how much money you have. Pretty backwards thinking.

Seosamh Wray • 1 year ago

Well even the librarian said that graduates normally only purchase the first few volumes and come back for the rest later. Even the nobility probably don't just have 5,000,000 lying around. Even dividing by 100 to get an equivalent for a decimal currency you'd still be paying 50,000 for your basic reference books that a starting alchemist needs. Possibly expected that any new graduates work under a master for a few years to gradually build up the funds for those books, or develop a reputation that makes their families feel like giving them all that money won't be wasteful.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

Ivy League schools do the same thing. Anyone can get into Yale with high enough grades, but I'm pretty sure George W Bush didn't get in with his grades.

Meroko Yui • 1 year ago

Ya it was something my prof told me when I attended university. I was an A+ student and pretty poor. Having a discussion with him he stated me and this other classmate I had were his top students. The other guy was going for law and had pretty much went through the system a lot when he was younger. Was actually my prof that stated in our conversation that a lot of the students tend not to care about failure being young as they were and being well off that if they failed they could just attend again. Where I was 25 at the time and considered a mature student. The other thing to note is that it has a lot more expectations when your younger then older to get in. Though with this they kept telling us don't major in psychology. The reason why is that so many people apply for psychology and they don't want as many psychologist. Hence they push for a high failure rate. Which means in those terms you have to get by on grades and most people drop or change courses. Reapplying for a program is always an option but the overall cost in the end to pay off everything is more cost in the end for doing so. Hence it's more likely those with money can just retake the course to pass while those without have to get by on working hard for good grades. University's cost already pushes a lot of people in poverty from even trying to attend often worrying about costs. The truth though is for completing and if you get into the career you shouldn't have a problem with paying it off. However even that is harsh as a lot of students after university end up working in fast food restaurants. The best way to go about it is to be attempting to get experience and work in the field while also attending university but not overdoing it that you decrease your grades. But anyways having money and a good environment makes things a bit easier.

its laughable in a dark way really. teachers and parents still cling to this whole if you don't go to collage you won't get a good job. but the more common situation is those who go to collage not only won't get a good job but will also gain a crippling student debt.

Meroko Yui • 1 year ago

However it is still true. You don't go to college you won't get a good job. A lot of businesses support their students and a lot of requirements on their listings end up requiring years in university or bachelor degrees. You might work at McDonalds making minimum wage but even then they're likely going to hire the student or university graduate over someone else even though those jobs will still easily hire the people without. In terms your just better off getting your studies done. That is unless you want high risk trade job. These jobs are pretty demanding and come with caution for your life or possible health problems. Majority of people don't handle these jobs well. Example would be Alaskan crab fishing, Diamond Mining and Oil Rigging. While they pay really you might not likely be working at them til a retirement age and you may always put your life or health at risk. Hence a job out of university would pay the bills and getting into a career would pay off your student loans better. The reality is nothing good doesn't come with these kind of payment plans. Examples would be buying a house or even a decent car. So better not to be holding yourself back fretting on cost and try for a career anyway. Maybe be smarter on what careers however will likely have more openings for larger chance to get into the career something your good at and interested in and while studying to get some experience in the field.
